Hanging toiletry bag, compressible storage bag, TSA lock, sliding tag for the handle: travel accessories that save space in your suitcase and prevent forced opening in the hold.
Travel accessories are divided into four categories: toiletry bags, storage bags, TSA locks and luggage tags. In the cabin, only liquids in containers of 100 ml or less are allowed, gathered in a transparent resealable plastic bag of one litre, one per passenger, as checked on service-public.fr in September 2026.
Toiletry bags carry cosmetics, either as a hook-on version or in a hard vanity case placed on a sink. Storage bags separate clean from dirty items and compress clothing. TSA locks secure checked luggage, while luggage tags identify it on the conveyor. Around these four needs revolve other travel accessories: luggage strap, protective cover, laptop pouch, shoe bag.
Each container of liquid, gel or aerosol taken on board must hold a maximum of 100 ml, and all must fit into a single resealable transparent bag of one litre, about 20 x 20 cm, one per passenger. This rule applies when departing from the European Union, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland, source service-public.fr checked on September 3, 2026. The direct consequence: a toiletry bag designed for cabin luggage is judged by its ability to hold this bag and to come out of the luggage on its own, not by its total capacity.
A TSA lock features a key that American security agents can open with a pass, under the Travel Sentry or Safe Skies license: they inspect the luggage and then relock it, where an ordinary lock could be cut, according to the Transportation Security Administration on tsa.gov. It is not mandatory anywhere, but it helps prevent damage on flights to the United States. For a combination model, resetting is done with a button or lever held down while displaying the new number, with the exact procedure varying by manufacturer. Three additional items:
A compression bag for travel works by expelling air: you roll the bag or close the side zipper, the air escapes through a valve, reducing the volume of thick textiles. A bag organiser addresses another need, separation: one cube per person or purpose, and the luggage can be unpacked without being emptied. Storage bags Rex London, a shoe bag, and a dirty laundry pouch cover most cases.
Size takes precedence over gender. A wide and usable toiletry bag can easily hold a razor and a brush; the vanity case and large compartmentalised sizes are better for bottles and makeup; a baby toiletry bag is judged by its washable lining. These travel accessories come from Rex London, Alife Design, American Tourister, VAUDE, Safta or La Cerise sur le Gâteau.
The limitation comes from the luggage that contains the accessory, not the accessory itself. A toiletry bag that fits EasyJet cabin luggage is the one that fits in the allowed bag onboard, not the one with the largest capacity; a TSA lock is only relevant for checked luggage in the hold. Allowed dimensions vary from airline to airline and can change without notice: our Cabin luggage by airline pages specify the measurements and their recorded date.
