Choosing a keyring by ring and carabiner

Check the diameter of the ring: if it's too thin, it can open in your pocket; if it's too thick, it won't fit into the head of a flat key. Buffalo leather develops a patina and cushions the contact of keys against a phone screen. Solid brass takes on a warm hue as it ages, while brushed steel remains neutral and doesn't scratch. In the luxury segment, a leather keyring is identifiable by its solid ring turned from a single piece, its painted edge, and its aligned rivets, not by its logo. Avoid thin chrome platings as they wear off on the first loaded bunch.
