Not all backpacks are worn the same way. Wheels to spare your back, coated fabric for rain, padded compartment for the laptop: each type meets a specific need, not a trend.
A type of backpack is chosen based on the strain it alleviates. Wheels reduce the burden when the journey is long or the back is fragile. Waterproofing protects the contents when cycling or walking in the rain. The rest, colours and finishes, come later.
Three families cover the essence of needs. The backpack classic, worn on both straps, remains the default format for city and classes. The wheeled model transfers the load to the ground: it weighs more empty, but you hardly ever carry it. The bag is waterproof and closes by rolling rather than with a zipper, which eliminates the entry point for water.
Our wheeled backpacks are suitable for daily commutes with a laptop and folders, and for school when the weight of the bag becomes an issue. Check that the straps can be tucked away: a wheeled model that can’t be carried at all becomes useless as soon as there are stairs. The waterproof backpacks, on the other hand, are judged by their closure and welded seams, not by the printed label.
When two models are equivalent on paper, three details make the difference: the length of the back in relation to your height, the adjustment of the straps, and the opening of the main compartment. A sports bag is recognized by its wide straps and ventilated pocket, while a city model has a flat back. The volume in litres is considered separately in our selection by capacity.
